Set up a Blogger.com site
To begin the process first join Blogger.com, create your account, choose a name for your blog and the wizard takes you through the process. Main elements where you have decisions to make are:
* SETTINGS:
1. Title: The wizard will tell you if the name you choose is not available.
2. Description: Think keywords in your description. This is oftentimes where the SE will pick up that information.
3. Add your Blog to listings? Drop down box yes or no
4. Show Email Post links? Drop down box yes or no
5. Global Settings? Drop down box yes or no
Save Settings
* TEMPLATE:
This is where you choose the look and style of your Blog. Some of the Templates have the places to put links built into the template. After you choose your Template you can then go back and add/edit links.
* The html to include links looks like this:
<li><a href="http://yourlink.com">Your text here like Cashflowpc - Cashflowpc has great work at home businesses</a></li>
Generally people put links in their side bar below the Profile box.
The Template area is where you can add G/Adsense. Add with caution. Note that anytime you make changes to your Template you must Save and then Republish.
Once you have made your basic decisions and your Blog is published, you can add content easily and also manage your Blog with the various tools in the top menu. You have 4 main areas:
1. Posting
4 settings allow you to Post, Edit, Moderate, and view your Status
2. Settings
8 settings - note this is where you can invite members to join your Blog to post (Members). Also Site Feed shows you your atom.xml and also is the place to set the Publish Feed on or off.
3. Template
3 settings. This is where you edit links, add links and etc.
4. View Blog
If you are good with html, you can dress your blog up with visuals. Some people are quite creative when it comes to the look of their Blog. However, whether all dressed up or plain Jane, the CONTENT is what counts. Keep it fresh and updated to keep those Bots coming back to your sites and your articles out on the Feeds.
